It is Here!!

It is here…it is finished! This inspirational book on gratitude took me one year to write.

I did not start writing with a book in mind. One could say it evolved as I did purposefully set out to write 365 posts on fb expressing gratitude. It was my oldest grandson, Jack, who was following me on fb and said, “Mimi, you should put all these gratitude posts in a book. I would really like to have that book. It would be the perfect gift for others to enjoy.” He then declared, “I’ll photograph the cover picture of you posting with a dachie on your lap.” Within minutes the picture was taken and the book was sealed in my heart.

I cannot take the credit for thinking of gratitude daily. My inspiration came from my cousin Linda Kingsford Kernan. You see, I was following her fb thankful posts each day for about 6 months. They cheered me up…they made me reflect on my life…they caused me to think on my own heart and what I was thankful for each day. I decided to give it a try for myself. Could I actually do this for one solid year?

The answer is “Yes” I did it for one solid year. I start on May 6. Yet today is August 3. Let’s take a look at what Living in Gratitude is for today.

Today I am grateful God lives in me. Of all the places He could reside, He chose my heart. Not too long ago someone asked if God speaks to my heart? I said “Yes.” The I was asked, “What do I do with His message?” Ha…I realized many of them remain locked in my heart…or worse yet…I choke them down. Since then I have risked releasing those messages, some of them in this book. So, now you know…I am listening to my heart…someone wiser than me dwells there. For now, I am relaxing with a dachie on my lap.

What are a few of the messages God speaks into your heart?

Obviously my book is not a chronological one…it is one that continues to grow with gratitude. I had no idea where it would take me but I discovered gratitude to be life changing for me. I developed a sense of wellbeing each day as I reflected on gratitude. There were days where gratitude turned what seemed like a “down” day into an “up” day. Gratitude gave me a peaceful awareness of the goodness and kindness of God for others and for myself. My faith in God increased as gratitude transformed my mind and my heart for an appreciation of all that I have been given with my family, friends, ministry and life.

My hope is that you, too, will give gratitude a chance. My book provides a unique way for you to get started. You will find each post is followed by a question to “jump start” your thinking about gratitude. I trust that you will enjoy my journey with gratitude and that you will find your life transformed as well…all this and more with a dachie on my lap!

You can reach me at my new author’s email address.  I would love to hear from you as you explore Living in Gratitude.
