A Time

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

         Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NIV

Time is a curious thing, it doesn’t feel like it has passed until you have to face the reality that things have changed. For me, time is a like an old friend that I unexpectedly run into, surprised to see her, and then reminded of the last time we were together.

I remember who I was the fist day I set foot on the GCU campus, the dreams I had, and the change I knew must be coming.

Today I am a different girl; kinder, wiser, and a bit more understanding.

Time has come, yet again, to follow change; to begin again in a new space.

I’m choosing to believe there is more than what was, and to dream about what could be.

I am moving to heal, to breathe, to acknowledge something more is needed, and the more was not located in Phoenix any longer. I am moving to have another grand adventure. I am moving for new life, I am moving to be brave.

Time will find me again, and when she does I wonder what she will have to say then.
