Bethany’s Thanksgiving Playlist 2016

November holds a special place in my heart. I hope it always does. Between my birthday and Thanksgiving, I love to linger in the remaining moments of fall during this month. Before I know it, Friday will be here and we will be catapulted into all things Christmas but today my heart says, no thank you, I’ll stay here.

Here. Curled up on my cozy couch on the patio with a soft blanket while I listen to the songs that speak to my heart this year. The holidays have a way of inviting me into deep introspection. Another year is coming to a close. A year that holds more stories and memories. Memories of joy and loss, gravity and depth. Some bring laughter, many bring tears and I continue to be so grateful to my God for allowing me to live this gloriously messy and beautiful life.

Thanksgiving, while very personal is also communal. Taking the time to look back in gratitude has the ability to breed  joy. Joy in the midst of stress, debt, grief, pain, and even death. Gratitude. Giving thanks. Thanksgiving can always be found. Always.

It has become a tradition of mine to create a playlist for Thanksgiving and I am honored to do so again this year. Each year the music has some common threads and yet it is unique as it reflects the places where my heart has been during the year.  I invite you to enjoy this playlist of mine and hope that you too will sit for a while to create the list of gratitude that reflects your heart this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving playlist.
