There is an excitement for me as I open my new calendar for the year. This year I chose calendars by Kelly Rae Roberts for both my engagement calendar and my meals and menu planning calendar. January’s photo is a woman after my own artistic heart. She has pink roses in her hair, butterfly wings and a lacy gown. She is lovely with her rosy red cheeks. The words she portrays are simply I choose hope.
Hope… 2014 stretches before me like a white aisle cloth, clean, pristine and ready for the princess bride to walk forward toward her future. This year, instead of the resolution I typically make at the beginning of each new year, I chose a word. It’s a word that crossed my path a number of times in December as if someone was trying to get my attention. I saw it written several places. It was one a friend spoke over me. As I replaced our holiday decorations with our home’s winter dressings, I was reminded that I have it on a piece of art hanging on my wall.
My word … Believe. I am committed to believe the truths God speaks over me through His word. I committed to believe the truths I hear offered to me by my friends, family and my peers.
This is my commitment as I begin to write on the pages of my 2014 calendar, planning the journey I hear God calling me to.

I love the calendar! I will be on the lookout for other artwork by her. Most of all, I love your word for the year! Believe. Isn’t that really our greatest thing going for us??? Keeping it simple becomes more profound and more attainable that way. Thanks for the reminder of being wise…which you are. With love, Becky
Thanks Becky. I have a wall of her art in my great room. The tiny words on her art are simple and wise and point me toward living the day before me with encouragement. Yes, believing is the greatest thing going for us. If we believe, we can. It is simple. I love how your words add a “frame” around my word believe.
Kelly Rae Roberts speaks to my soul. I LOVE her work, and her blog too. Excellent choices for a year of soul nurturing reminders.
Thank you Renee. ……soul nurturing reminders…. that’s what her words speak into me and you as well. We are kindred spirits, moved by her words and her art.
You are the inspiration, dear Valerie.
I find it so amazing that we look to others and see them as inspiring. When you and I connect, I leave your presence inspired to add more color to my world, to live more fully, to ponder more deeply. Fellow inspirers……that’s what we are to one another. Love you friend.
